Dr. Myers is available to provide expert witness testimony in child custody litigation.
She can assist attorneys in their preparation of cases involving minor children, such as:
The Court must appoint Dr. Myers before she is able to do an assessment, evaluation, or counseling with the child. Dr. Myers will work with both parents to improve the parent/child relationship, but is not responsible for contacting either parent or their respective attorneys.
Texas Family Code Statute 107.101, Subchapter D, prevents Dr. Myers from making custody recommendations unless she is court-appointed to conduct a child custody evaluation.
Dr. Myers is able to provide education and expert testimony based on her years of experience as a mental health clinician and teacher. She is a child advocate, and always works for the best interests of the child.
Strategic legal support is also available to help prepare a client for court or an evaluation, and to assist in developing potential parenting plan options. In addition, Dr. Myers can provide reviews of the written work of other mental health professionals to ensure their compliance with the Texas Family Code.
Dr. Myers reserves the right to refuse services in cases of domestic violence.
